Summer School 2025 Wuhan University, China
In July 2025, I took part in the LuoJia Global Summer School program at Wuhan University. For me, it was not just an academic experience but a full immersion into Chinese culture, urban life, and the student atmosphere.
Academic Program
The program brought together students from different countries and disciplines. The lectures and seminars were dedicated to modern research and practices, which made it clear how science and education in China are actively integrated into the global agenda. The campus itself made a special impression. The Old Library is a true architectural gem, combining Gothic elements with Chinese details. Even in summer, Cherry Blossom Avenue looked remarkably picturesque, and in spring it turns into one of the university’s most iconic places. At the Wanlin Art Museum, I also saw exhibitions reflecting China’s rich cultural heritage. In the evenings, campus life didn’t stop: we played ping pong, and I myself joined several late-night runs at the stadium — a special atmosphere when everything around is quiet and the sports ground is lit up by spotlights.

City and Culture
Wuhan is called the “City of Rivers” and the “City of a Hundred Lakes.” It stands at the confluence of the Yangtze and Han rivers, and you can truly feel the presence of water and open space everywhere. I was impressed by the bustling Jianghan Road — with its endless flow of people, shop windows, and street food. This is where you can best experience the rhythm of a modern Chinese megacity. Another discovery was the Yangtze River Bridge, built by Soviet engineers. It seems to connect different eras — a symbol of friendship and engineering excellence. I must also mention the stunning park at Donghu (East Lake). The bike path along the shore lets you ride leisurely while opening up breathtaking views of Wuhan’s skyscrapers. The contrast of nature and urbanism leaves a lasting impression. I also visited the Hubei Provincial Museum, where the famous ancient sword, more than two thousand years old, is preserved. This relic is the pride of the museum and one of the most important artifacts of Chinese history.

Food and Culinary Impressions
One of the brightest parts of the trip was the food. Wuhan is famous for its noodles and street snacks. On Jianghan Road, I tried a variety of street foods — from skewers to sweets prepared right before my eyes. I also remember a noodle soup served in a small family eatery: a simple dish, but with an incredibly rich broth and fresh noodles. Equally memorable was a refreshing and light tea, as well as a seafood and lotus seed soup we tasted in a traditional Chinese restaurant.

Everyday Life and Organization
The campus was very well organized — with cafeterias and small shops open until late at night, where you could buy everything you needed. The dormitory rooms were equipped with air conditioning, a wardrobe, a desk, a chair, and a bed.

Conclusion
This trip was a real discovery for me. I gained new academic experience, met Chinese students and professors, and felt the atmosphere of a campus rich in history yet full of modern opportunities. Wuhan remains in my memory as a city where ancient traditions and the dynamism of modern China intertwine harmoniously. Jianghan Road, the Yangtze River Bridge, Donghu Lake with its bike path and views of skyscrapers — all these come together to create a vivid and lively image of the city. And most importantly: this wonderful journey grew into friendship and new professional connections. A first video conference between Wuhan University and the Russia Research Institute of Healthcare of the Ministry of Health of Russia, where I work, has already taken place. This dialogue became an important step toward future cooperation in science and education. The trip to Wuhan gave me not only knowledge but also a new perspective on culture, communication, and international collaboration. It was an experience that will stay with me for a long time, and one I will gladly return to in my memories.

Lectures at Sapienza University (Italy) were engaging and containing complicated topics in an easy-to-understand form.

I would recommend students who wish to go on an exchange program to take part in all possible activities which partner university can provide, visit the county of exchange, and make friends.

Though my exchange at Luxembourg University was affected by COVID-19, I would still say it was amazing

I had a chance to dive into the history of the foreign country. During the exchange at METU (Turkey), I lived with friends and one of them was Turkish. This guy showed the key places in Ankara and gave a short review of modern Turkish history. The brightest day of my exchange program was the day of Remembering Ataturk on 10th November at 9:05 AM when I met many people outside in a crowded street to see how the nation respects its father.

It was a warm spring night with cherry blossom trees around, I and 20 more exchange students at KAIST (South Korea) from all around the world met on the roof of the library to drink Korean soju and sing American songs.

I had a chance to study with Korean students at Seoul National University (South Korea) for a short term to see how hard they study in their university.

I chose METU because of its reputation and high ranking in the area.
I chose Seoul National University (South Korea) mostly due to its high rankings and high quality of education that is recognized in Korea and worldwide.

“I always wanted to go somewhere for an Exchange programme, but I was not sure where to go. Couple of weeks before the application deadline a new university was added - the university I have chosen as my first option - The ‘Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember’” - Adela Krylova

“Until the very last moment, I was not sure if I would go for an exchange. Initially, I chose 2 universities where I would like to go for an exchange. After the deadline for the forms came and all documents were submitted, I realised that I did not like my choice of the second university, so I was only left with the first one - ‘Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember’ or ITS.” - Roman Makarov

My time in ADA University (Baku, Azerbaijan) definitely exceeded my expectations. From the beautiful views of the city to the high academic standards of the university I loved my time there.

ADA being the top university in Azerbaijan gave me the chance to interact with amazing people from all over the world, participate in cool events, conferences, concerts, charity and I even got to meet Koichi Wakata a renowned Japanese astronaut since the International Astronautical Congress took place in ADA. I especially loved the IEEE Women in Engineering Panel Discussion. I had previously written several papers in Innopolis and everyone knows getting your paper in IEEE is a big deal so being with these female pioneers in the field felt great. There are many other women driven events and clubs which I was a part of.

Never have we changed life so greatly before the exchange program.

I had a wonderful opportunity to experience studying abroad at the University of Belgrade in Serbia. The personalized approach to international students helped me successfully integrate into the studying and allowed me to complete the semester with ease.

What exchange is for me? It's easier to say what it is not. I went in knowing that it would be a one-of-a-kind experience, and I ended up getting even more.

This summer, I had one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life - an exchange trip to Beijing Institute of Technology for a 1-month Chinese Language and Multicultural Practice summer program.

That time in my life was incredibly fun and full of entertainment. It wasn't just about studying; it was the complete experience of living in another country for six months.

This summer, we had a unique opportunity to participate in a summer school program at BIT. Until the last minute, we couldn't believe we were actually going to fly to China — but it happened! It turned out to be one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives.

Hello! I spent 4 months in China, and I'll tell you about my most amazing experiences there.
My trip to Indonesia was an incredible experience! Everything there felt so different — the culture, food, climate, and people. I’ve met not only local students but also made friends from Japan, China, Thailand, and other Asian countries. We spent so much time together, sharing stories about our culture and learning from each other.
My name is Sofia and I participated in an exchange programme in China. It was an unexpected and quite inconvenient decision, but it turned out a very successful, valuable and exciting journey.
Hello! My name is Aleksei Antipov, and I took part in a student exchange program where I studied at the Beijing Institute of Technology. It was an unforgettable journey, but let me tell you everything step by step.
Last spring semester, I spent 5 unforgettable months as an exchange student at Middle East Technical University (METU) in Türkiye. It was a short period, but it was full of life-changing memories and amazing friendships.
Hey-hey, Selamat pagi! I’d like to briefly introduce you to the country where I spent six months.
Studying. Despite UPM being very high on university rankings, studying there was rather easy. All of my courses had at most 3 contact hours per week and very little homework
This past month in China felt like a whole new life – rich, intense, and unforgettable. I truly believe these memories will stay with us forever.
I don’t have the proper words to explain how grateful I am for this experience. I saw so many beautiful things this summer, met new friends, gained new knowledge, and got acquainted with a new country – one that is so different in many ways from the countries of the Western world.
Two weeks in Indonesia flew by unnoticed. I was at the Summer School at CommTech Camp Highlight 2025 on Stream 1: Innovations in Engineering. Insanely cool summer school, very eventful, every day we were given interesting lectures, showed the university laboratories, told about projects that ITS students create.
